I recently installed an ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth adapter on my HP laptop (G71-340US) – which runs Windows 7 64-bit. After I paired my laptop to a SONY Bluetooth-enabled speaker (SRS-XB3) and the drivers were installed, everything seemed to be working okay. However, I found that the Bluetooth Device Control panel indicates that the SRS-XB3 is a “headset” instead of a speaker (see control panel list below). In addition, the SRS-XB3 Properties listed for the speaker are for a headset as well. The Bluetooth adapter uses a Broadcom driver (3/1/2012) version 6.5.1.2500. However, according to the Broadcom web site <https://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth>, Broadcom no longer posts Windows drivers for Bluetooth devices which are available through Microsoft's Windows Update service.
So I was wondering if there is a fix available (or in the works) that would resolve this issue with the Bluetooth speaker.
Thanks.
Jeff
